Thinking About...The 4th of July. We were getting ready for my brothers party and Gigi asked, "are we going to a birthday party?"...well YES! It is America's birthday...Gigi, "are you just kidding?"  hahaha Mike and I were rolling... So what was Gigi's reaction? "Oh then I need to wear a nice dress!"- yes sweet girl, you should. Good thing we had this gorgeous one in the closet and the patriotic ombre shoes we made together!  It was really fun going "all out" for the day and showing our patriotism. I am so grateful on holidays like these for our military and those that have sacrificed and fought for our freedom.  I think of my Grandpa, Charles Cleaton, who bravely defended our freedom in world war 2...he was a bombadier in the b17 planes that flew over Europe.  Also I am so grateful for the service of my father-in-law Charles Kent for his 30 years of service in the Army, even becoming a full colonel. I pray our own Charles will be as courageous, brave and bold as his namesakes.

ohhh and in these pictures Gigi is holding a patriotic wand. We made it together...we painted a stick blue and tied red, white and blue ribbon on it. poof. you have a new exciting toy.

I ADORE my nieces and nephews....who is older...the twins or charlie?

Watching... My hubs discovered a show on Amazon Prime called "Rome" we are 4 episodes deep and so far it's good. Not crazy about it yet, but I like it.

Listening to...the random songs on the ice cream truck.  We got ice cream from the ice cream truck at the park this weekend, so I was very happy to check that off the summer bucket list. The one in our neighborhood however that circulates around plays "Silent Night" from its van. over and over. every time.  I mean...do they know?

Thankful For... A long weekend spent with friends and family....and so much activity!!! BBQ's, dinner, parties, park, splashing, kite flying, family game night.....umm and can you please notice the cuteness of the Saint dolls that my mom got for all the grandkiddies this weekend....they all have to do with either their 1st or middle names...they are made by a friend of mine Meg- her etsy shop is handmadebymegk PLEASE check her out....they are adorbs!  Gigi was even asking us, since she received Mary the mother of God doll (her middle name is Marie), "how do you know what mama Mary looks like?" uhhh well. we just do. well at least meg does ;)

What about you? What are you CURRENTLY up to?

  1. So fun to stop by! I love the festive fourth outfits! My youngest's birthday is on the 4th and we always have to find the balance between celebrating the fourth and celebrating birthday, consequently this year's fourth of July outfit was Elsa inspired! Look forward to reading more!

    1. Sharing birthdays with a holiday is rough and I am sure is a juggling act. My daughter is having a frozen themed b-day in august...any tips?!

  2. You looked so festive for the 4th! I love how you told your daughter about it being America's birthday and she wanted to dress up. It's so cute how kids get so excited about things that we don't think about as much as adults.

  4. Looks like you guys had a great long weekend!! I love your festive dresses! :) We have yet to catch the ice cream truck this summer, but its definitely on our bucket list. I think I'm more excited for it because I grew up in the country and have never experienced the magic of the ice cream truck....!

  5. Your weekend looked like so much fun! Those dolls are so sweet. I think I've watched too many scary movies and ice cream trucks freak me out haha. Maybe the guy who drives one in our neighborhood is just creepy.
